Terms of service

Article 1. Purpose and definitions

These Terms set out the rights, duties and responsibilities between Netty Co., Ltd. ("CLIFF", "we") and people who use CLIFF.

• "Service" means CLIFF's web and mobile features for discovering, viewing, uploading and managing short-form drama content and related community and creator functions.
• "User" means anyone who accesses the Service, and "Member" means a User who creates an account.
• "Creator" means a Member who operates a channel or uploads a work, episode or other material. "Coins" are digital units used in the Service, such as for episode rentals, and carry no right to cash withdrawal, transfer or exchange.

Article 2. Minimum age

CLIFF is not directed at children. We do not knowingly accept sign-ups from anyone under 14 (under 13 in the US, under 15 in Japan). If we learn a child has registered, we delete the account.

Article 3. Service features

CLIFF provides content discovery and viewing, libraries, comments, reports and blocks, creator channels and uploads, Coins and episode rentals, and support.

Article 4. Coins, purchases, refunds and withdrawal

Coins are purchased only through in-app purchase on iOS or Android. The web does not sell Coins or paid viewing access. Coins are issued only after the store receipt is verified, and paid Coins do not expire.

The creator of each work decides whether each episode is free or paid. A paid episode costs 70 Coins and is a rental, not ownership. All rentals last one year (365 days) from the rental transaction, whether or not viewing has started. Playback does not extend the expiry. This also applies to earlier rentals, from their original transaction date.

Refunds of unused Coin purchases follow the Apple or Google refund process. Used charged value and rented episodes are not refunded.

The withdrawal notice is shown before payment together with the rental conditions: one year (365 days) from the rental transaction and no refund.

Article 5. Creator rights and settlement

Rights in a work, including its IP, sequels and remakes, remain with the Creator. The licence CLIFF receives, including use of the work for promotion, as well as prices, settlement and payouts, follow the Creator Terms and the policies that form part of them.

The Creator allocation is 70% of the allocation base and CLIFF's share is 30%. The allocation base is the amount after store fees, transaction taxes and refund adjustments, as set out in the Monetization and Payout Policy and the settlement statement. CLIFF provides the prior month's settlement statement on the 15th of the following month.

Article 6. Reports and blocks

Signed-in Users can report comments with a reason and block another User. A report is not a confirmed violation or a deletion.

Article 7. Account deletion

You can request account deletion from Settings › Advanced settings › Delete account on the web or in the app. The request immediately deactivates the account and signs out every device. Data is destroyed after a 5-day grace period. To cancel before then, sign in again and choose "Keep my account". Signing in alone does not cancel the deletion.

The following records are retained after replacing the User's identity with a withdrawal marker: order, wallet, Coin and Thanks ledgers and tax records for 5 years; support, report and audit records for 3 years; and access records for 3 months. The email hash is kept for 6 months from withdrawal to prevent re-registration and then destroyed. Comments remain under a withdrawal marker unless removed before deletion. A channel's sole owner can delete the account after making the channel private and stopping sales of its works; settlement and rights records are anonymized and retained.

Article 8. Notice for users outside Korea

• United States: an episode transaction is a rental, not ownership. The rental conditions and a link to the detailed terms appear near the payment button.
• The CLIFF app is not distributed in app stores of European Union member states or the United Kingdom.

Article 9. Language versions

These Terms are published in English, Korean, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish. The English version is the original; all other language versions are translations. If any language version conflicts with the English version, the English version prevails.
