Coins and paid episodes

How to top up coins and rent paid episodes.

Free and paid

The creator decides whether each episode is free or paid. You watch paid episodes by renting them with coins. Prices differ by episode and are shown on the rent button.

Topping up coins

You top up coins in the CLIFF app, paying through the App Store or Google Play.

  • You cannot top up on the web. Coins you top up in the app work on the web right away with the same account.
  • Coin packs and prices are shown on the app's top-up screen.
  • Coins you pay for do not expire.
  • If you reinstalled the app or your coins did not arrive, try Restore purchases in the app.

Renting

  1. Tap a paid episode.
  2. Check the rental terms and press Rent · N coins.
  3. The coins are deducted and you can watch right away.

To rent a paid episode, your account's email must be verified.

Rental period

  • New rentals last one year (365 days) from the rental transaction.
  • The period runs even if you have not started watching. Playback does not extend the expiry.
  • Existing rentals also expire 365 days after their original transaction, including previously expired rentals. The change does not restart the period.

The time left is shown next to the episode, such as Watch until (date) or Expired · Rent again.

Keep watching without interruptions

If you turn on Keep watching without interruptions on the rental confirmation screen, from then on, tapping a locked episode deducts that episode's price in coins right away, with no confirmation.

  • Coins are only deducted when you tap. Autoplay never deducts coins.
  • If you do not have enough coins, nothing is deducted and you go to the top-up screen.
  • When coins are deducted, the coins spent and your balance briefly appear on screen, and you can turn it off right there in Settings.

Refunds

  • Refunds for unused coin purchases follow Apple's or Google's refund process.
  • Spent coins and rented episodes are not refunded.

Purchase history

See the episodes you rented under Purchases in My collection. Your payment history shows the currency and amount you were actually charged.
